The retail customer is the one who determines the success and survival of a company over time.
Quality has always been the basis of the daily commitment of the entire Company, not only for finished products, but for all production processes and personnel behavior.
A clear example is the CSQA Certificate obtained in 2002, which recognized Mericco SpA sausage as the first fresh pork sausage with supply chain certification, witnessing the attention to detail and commitment that has always set the company apart in this field.

Ensuring quality is therefore a precise strategic choice, supported by the corresponding relevant investments, which has led to the adoption of a self-control plan based on the HACCP system , GMP and SSOP procedures and in full compliance with current legislation on food safety.
The Self-Control Plan provides for the execution of approximately 1,000 analyses per year, including: microbiological and chemical analyses on raw materials and finished products, environmental swabs and controls on prohibited substances.
In this framework oriented towards Safety and Quality, the Company – since 1999 – has obtained the UNI EN ISO 9002 certification (CSQA – Certificate n° 187) and then, in 2002, conformed to the new UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 standard (VISION 2000) and subsequently, in 2008, to the UNI EN ISO 9001.
In 2017, the Company also obtained the IFS (International Food Standard) Certification in compliance with the highest quality standards required by large-scale retail trade.
In fact, IFS certifies all process phases with strict inspection checks and very strict quality standards.
The certifications are evidence of the awareness that Quality:
- is achieved by sourcing raw materials that meet specific requirements,
- is achieved in the production departments through process controls and monitoring of critical production phases,
- is based on the continuous and targeted training of personnel for the correct execution of production processes in compliance with what is established by binding or voluntary regulations,
- is achieved by testing finished products to ensure that they are released only when specific quality requirements are met.
Quality also means attention and respect for the environment. The so-called Green economy has assumed great importance and finds expression in many activities and technologies adopted by the company today.



Among others, the following are mentioned:
- Industry 4.0 Certification capable of sustaining its production cycle by wasting as little as possible using technology aimed at making production processes more efficient,
- The use of low energy LED lighting systems,
- The recycling of cardboard packaging,
- The use of specific components that contain products that allow for CO2 savings resulting from the lower number of transports required compared to other solutions on the market.
Mericco SpA has always been committed to this front, which allows it to be at the forefront with its finished products while also guaranteeing the highest food safety standards.
